The company was formed in 1967 in an effort to start the Renault Trucks business in Indonesia. Starting off in the forestry segment where it continues to be market leader, the company has expanded its business to almost all the segments in the transport industry.

Based in Jakarta, PT Alun is a diversified group of companies with a strong foothold in serving the transport segment in Indonesia. Although representing Renault Trucks as their authorized agent in Indonesia, the group operates, through their sister company PT Alun Indah, a large warehousing and logistics centre in East Jakarta providing one stop storage and distribution centre for local and multinational companies. Equipped with a bonded area, the distribution centre offers 181.265 meters square of storage area catering to the needs of the small retailer to large multinational companies.
